Musacs Ltd. was recently established and is a joint venture between Divamusic.biz and JRD Partnership (Chartered Accountants). The company was the concept of Divamusic.biz management who had originally planned to set up a professional legal and accountancy services referral system for Scottish based musicians and entertainers.

Preliminary research highlighted significant demand for a specialised accountancy/taxation service provider exclusive to the entertainments industry, as this previously did not exist in Scotland. As the company's initial clients were involved in both music and acting, it was then decided to specifically cover both of these areas and other entertainers. Outline discussions with local MU and Equity representatives also supported the view that a need for specialised professional support exists for their Scottish members in particular. A separate joint venture company was then established to carry out the core activities rather than simply refer cases to third party advisors. Legal services cannot be conducted by the company, for regulatory reasons, and any clients requiring legal advice will be referred to appropriate professional advisors.

The business is unique as it provides its clients with access to combined entertainments industry/accountancy expertise. Consultancy services are also now being developed - covering a diverse range of services from event and tour scheduling through to general management activities (e.g. to compliment creative management services for Divamusic.biz artists).
