Counselled Out has headlined gigs throughout the UK as far afield as
Inverness and London. The band joined members of the original T-Rex
at The Magnum in Irvine and provided backing to the specially reformed
Gallacher & Lyle and Deacon Blue at a fund-raiser for the ‘SMART’ music
project. The band has also backed Middle of the Road’s Sally
Carr and featured with The Marmalade. Counselled Out was joined
on stage during a gig in Glasgow by a number of original members
from the Commitments movie for an impromptu set.
Counselled Out is the only Scottish band to headline the Dunfermline Soul Club in recent years, all other acts being internationally renowned such as Eddie Floyd.
Counselled Out has enjoyed joint billing at the Ayr Gaiety theatre with Elaine C. Smith and also at the inaugural ‘Common Ground’ festival with leading US blues/gospel artists. The band also headlined at the ‘European Village’ - Champions League Final at Hampden in May 2002 (entertaining 3,500 mainly Spanish and German guests and successfully demonstrating that Glasgow soul can translate effectively!).
The band joined Divamusic.biz management in 2003 consolidating a strong Ayrshire connection, having sold-out concerts at Kilmarnock's Grand Hall over a number of years and appeared at the "Burns an' a' that!" and Ayr Festivals. Counselled Out is also the 'house' band at the annual West FM 'Cash For Kids' charity event and has appeared with Samantha Mumba, Busted, Jamelia and Westlife among the many guest 'chart' acts. |
